Position Summary
The Calgary Stampede is looking for a Administrative Assistant - Safety who is a true collaborator who supports our employees to be safe every day. We are looking for someone who enjoys getting into the details and recognizes how that makes the workplace safer. Safety at the Calgary Stampede includes the Sam Centre, the newly expanded BMO Centre, and even our two ranches. This is the type of role where you can make a positive influence daily and you can contribute meaningfully to building and maintaining a work-class safety program.
Please note: This is a year-round, part-time position for approximately 30 hours per week. The schedule can be flexible but needs to be predictable. However, this position will be required to work 40+ hours for 3-4 week around the annual Calgary Stampede.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Promote a culture of safety across the organization with a particular focus on new and young workers.
- Support employees with online, in-person, and external safety training. This includes scheduling, registration, compliance tracking, and producing training reports.
- Prepare and submit WCB claims on behalf of the employer and support employees with filing their own claims. Track the number and status of each claim.
- Coordinate modified work programs with Employee Services and People Leaders.
- Manage files such as near-misses, incident reporting, and inspections. Ensure their timely and comprehensive completion and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Produce health & safety statistic reports monthly, post-event, and on an ad hoc basis.
- Perform data entry, list management, and budget tracking for a variety of projects
- Support special projects and program initiatives as assigned
- Monitor all documentation for COR certification and other internal and external audits.
- Serve as the minute taker for the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic, and have worked in a dynamic environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:
- Health, Safety, and Environment training preferred
- Previous experience working with learning management systems and safety reporting software.
eCompliance experience is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail, with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work through effective time management
- Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- This is a part-time position open to a flexible schedule. Hours will generally be during standard operating hours from 7 am to 6 pm. Additional hours are required around the annual Calgary Stampede. An approved schedule will be determined collaboratively.
