JOB DESCRIPTION
Apex is seeking a dynamic Solution Architect Lead with strong consultative skills to act as a hands-on Technical Leader in the US & Canada practice within Apex Systems Solutions Delivery Organization. This role will be the main technical point of contact for the client, lead a team of architects, and engineers to design, develop and deliver solutions for Apex clients. This role will also provide technical subject matter expertise and will coach and mentor Apex Systems’ internal technical Consultants in their career growth and development.



Client specific tasks will include mentoring and leading contractors to meet project specific outcomes. This role will be responsible for client deliverables as well as internal leadership of technical consulting professionals.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Acting as a leader to build strong internal and external customer relationships, leading by example.
- Facilitating collaboration, ideation, and metrics reporting to executive level clients.
- Demonstrate expert-level technical knowledge and implementation skills. Serve as a subject matter expert. Build trust and respect among internal and external stakeholders and model collaborative teamwork.
- Display a drive to evolve industry-standard architectures, patterns, and frameworks into custom solutions that maximize client value.




- Work with non-technical stakeholders to translate functional requirements to detailed technical tasks for the development team to implement.
- Lead team members to produce high quality deliverables, meet project deadlines, and take responsibility for engagement and team success. Demonstrate a passion for quality and process improvement. Lead the development, growth, and success of your team, developing professionals for the next stage of their careers.
- Demonstrate professional level consulting skills, leadership skills, and communication / presentation skills. Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to acquire skills to meet business needs.
- Participate in supporting sales pursuits by providing technical guidance, estimates, scoping and other pre-sales activities. Continually innovate, seek creative solutions, and find new ways of adding value. Listen and seek to understand the client and meet their needs, providing consultative guidance.



Stay attuned to the future needs of the client and work with internal resources to identify opportunities. Proactively provide solutions and approach adversity with a solution-focused mindset.
- Identify and evaluate new team members through professional networking and technical screening.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products and client specific challenges.
- Interest in working in fast-paced tech and product-oriented environments.

CLIENT SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

- Oversee all aspects of client implementation/deployments for client’s customers.
- Work as senior-most Apex technological representative to clients for all phases of projects: kickoff, build and release iterations, pilot, and post-launch.
- Hire, train,



and manage a team of solution architects with scalability and growth in mind.
- Establish and refine best practices and processes to deliver efficiently and repeatably, with a focus on integrations with multiple enterprise retail systems.
- Work with other leads to develop project plans, timelines, and SOWs; manage resources to ensure successful, on-time deliveries.
- Great people skills and ability to communicate and build relationships across all levels.
- Troubleshoot and manage escalations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- 10+ years of Software Development and Engineering Experience (SDLC).
- 6+ years of Solution Architecture experience in leading, managing, and mentoring a team of solution architects, demonstrating effective team leadership and development skills.



Proficient in collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that architectural solutions effectively meet business objectives and are seamlessly integrated with other projects.
- Deep understanding of API (REST, GraphQL) design, integrations, and testing using tools like Postman. Expertise in defining, tracking, and analyzing API performance metrics.
- Strong AWS and/or Azure API Integration experience.
- Holistic Cloud experience (Azure, GCP and AWS) working with containerization and orchestration.
- Proficiency in Python and Java.
- Experience with database design and implementation (Relational and non-SQL). Knowledge of code/scripting/automation or data engineering; and proficiency with persistence frameworks such as Hibernate, Spring Data, etc.
- CI/CD Processes and pipeline experience such as Jenkins.
- Possess a strong sense of ownership.
- Familiarity with building and versioning tools such as Maven, Gradle, Git, Bitbucket, etc.
- Preferred Skills:




- Knowledge of UI frameworks such as React, and Angular.
- Artificial Intelligence (Azure AI & Open AI with Spring AI) experience.
- Experience in establishing and leading Centers of Excellence, which involves setting up best practices, guiding teams, and driving innovation and quality across projects.
- Proficiency with Test-Driven Development and testing frameworks.
- Experience using collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience directly managing software developers or other technical professionals required.
- Solid experience working in agile software development with non-technical professionals such as product owners in backlog grooming, backlog refinement and story pointing.
- Experience in a client-facing/consulting role.




- Positive relationship builder person able to navigate through complex situations to ensure the most robust and pragmatic solution.
- Strong analytical skills and the aptitude to quickly identify gaps and risks.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts to engineering and business partners.
- Comfortable presenting to large internal groups and leadership team members.
- BA/BS preferred in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields (applicable education and experience may be substituted).
