Description

The Department of Radiology in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Associate. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

Reports to the Principal Investigator. The research focuses on brain imaging but includes complementary data collection approaches to study the brain including clinical and developmental conditions.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Data collection (both neuroimaging and complementary data such as non-invasive neurostimulation, behavioural testing and questionnaires), data management and analysis




- Working with research participants and patients as well as other team members to collect high quality data
- Develop and maintain high data quality assurance procedures and data analysis pipelines
- Support multiple projects in terms of project development, data acquisition, quality checking and analysis
- Communication and interpersonal skills to ensure high quality research
- Facilitate productive research environment
- Support study development including study design and procedures; development and maintenance of strong study protocols
- Collect, analyze and interpret imaging data across various multiple research projects
- Operate equipment for the collection of data
- Work with study participants to ensure high quality data
- Train and support other lab members in data management and developed pipelines

Qualifications / Requirements:

- Graduate degree in biomedical engineering, medical sciences, neurosciences or related discipline
- Experience with magnetic resonance/neuroimaging data. Desirable to have experience with magnetic resonance spectroscopy
- Proficiency with MRI/MRS data analysis,



including developing scripts for data management, processing, and analysis. This will include working with multiple different software packages
- Familiarity with neuroimaging data formats and data organization (e.g., BIDS)
- Work with data collection and management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with multiple groups and collaborators
- Ability to conduct literature reviews and critically evaluate the literature, and as appropriate, integrate methodology advancements
