Talent Management within People and Culture is currently seeking a Full-time Temporary Relief Senior Organizational Development Consultant for approximately 20 months.
Talent Management is responsible for designing and implementing talent attraction programs and strategies, and development and implementation of recruitment/selection training and resources to support hiring managers. This area also develops programming designed to retain and develop our faculty and staff. This includes internal learning/leadership development programs, performance management, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, organizational development, facilitation, team effectiveness and change management service.
This position reports to the Director, Talent Management and will include consulting, coaching and facilitation in areas such as leadership development, conflict resolution, team development, change and transition management. The Sr. O.D. Consultant will work in a complex, dynamic, and fast-paced environment, while managing stakeholder needs and supporting multiple projects.
This role requires a strong and capable O.D. specialist who can deliver dynamic, effective leadership and culture-focused workshops, facilitation and leader-level consulting and coaching. This position is one of 3 Sr. O.D. Consultants who work collaboratively within People and Culture, supporting leaders of the university. An eye for detail, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, a focus on team and the desire to deliver meaningful, effective solutions, particularly in the soft/essential leadership skills are essential.
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Coaches leaders in expanding and applying leadership competencies and developing their teams and team members.
- Designs, implements and evaluates strategies and interventions to enhance individual, team, and program effectiveness, stimulate employee engagement, promote learning and facilitate change including teambuilding, visioning, strategic planning, and change and transition management.
- Partners with leaders and other organizational stakeholders to analyze and clarify complex program issues and objectives and develop strategies and plans to enhance performance and career development.
- In partnership with HR Services, provides consulting and coaching in areas such as strategic planning, succession planning, leadership development, conflict resolution and change management.
- Develop, implement and/or improve upon programs and initiatives that support retention including succession planning, recognition programs, competency identification,
learning and development plans and performance management.
- Partners with O.D. Consultant (Learning), develops, plans and implements strategies to reinforce learning and support application in the workplace; ensures integration and alignment of training and organization development programs and services.
- Monitors trends in organization development and assesses impact, fit and benefit to the organization. Shares knowledge within the People Portfolio and organizational partners.
- Provides expertise and recommendations to various committees and working groups regarding organization development issues.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- A Bachelors or graduate Degree in Human Resources Management, Adult Education/Organizational Development/Organizational Psychology or a related discipline.
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years recent,
relevant experience.
- Skills and experience in strategic collaboration, facilitation and coaching.
- Experience in a complex unionized setting is a strong asset.
- Superb leadership, coaching and collaboration abilities.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, systems-thinking and time-management skills.
- Must be able to work confidently and credibly with senior/executive management.
- Practical understanding and application of methodologies and approaches for learning, departmental planning, organization design, leadership development, coaching, diversity work/life balance and conflict management.
- Project management expertise.
- Computer skills including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
