The Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary is seeking an innovative academic scholar to assume the role of Centre Director for the Centre for Wellbeing in Education. This position is available at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track), Associate Professor or Full Professor (with tenure) - Teaching and Research, with a five-year appointment as Centre Director and the possibility of renewal.

The Centre is a dynamic unit dedicated to advancing the wellbeing of children, youth, and emerging adults (ages 4-25) through a comprehensive approach to research, education, and community service,



and we seek an innovative leader to drive its mission forward.

The Centre Director will be at the helm of expanding the Centre's impact by developing a robust research program focused on school mental health and wellbeing. The role will involve leading high-impact research initiatives, seeking transdisciplinary collaborations both within the University and with external partners, and driving community engagement efforts. Alongside an established team, the Centre Director will exercise comprehensive oversight of all aspects of the Centre.

The successful candidate will hold a completed doctorate in Educational Psychology (Counselling Psychology, School Psychology), Education or a related discipline, and have a respected research program with a national or international reputation in school mental health and wellbeing. Experience with large-scale, externally funded research projects is preferred, along with a demonstrated ability to lead graduate-level teaching, supervise graduate students, and engage with professional communities.





The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in securing research funding, fostering collaborations and a commitment to advancing the field through innovative research and practice. Preference will be given to candidates who are eligible for registration as a registered psychologist in Alberta.

Applicants at the assistant professor level must present evidence of an ongoing research program beyond the doctoral dissertation, a publication record, evidence of successful teaching, and evidence of some engagement with professional and other communities.

Applicants at the associate professor level must present evidence of an established, externally funded research program, outstanding academic publication record, evidence of outstanding teaching and graduate supervision, a demonstrated ability to lead research teams, and evidence of academic service and/or leadership.





Applicants at the full professor level must present evidence of a well-established funded research program, a strong publication record, evidence of successful teaching and graduate supervision, and evidence of established academic engagements in professional and other communities.
