Program Facilitator

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Training and Development,
the Program Facilitator leads students through WBF programs, ensuring programs are being delivered in a positive, safe, and effective way so that students gain skills to improve economic security through gainful employment outcomes.
This is a full-time on-site position at our downtown Edmonton training center.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage WBF student groups in their programs of choice.
- Deliver Best Practices Workplace Readiness and Career Development (WP/CD) curriculum, workshops, and sessions for students at WBF and for off-site groups.
- Provide one on one support throughout the program connecting them with community supports and resources as .
Instructor and Student Management and Support
- Monitor student engagement and momentum within each class to provide regular feedback.
- Identify and address strategies for dealing with potential challenges that a student may encounter during the program.
- Provide mentoring to students to develop personal skills they need to be prepared for employment.
- Recommend and refer students to additional resources as needed.
- Motivate and encourage students.
- Engage with program instructors for classroom schedules, activities, and evaluations.
Program Management Tasks
- Implement student schedules including site visits, guest speakers, interview skills workshops, etc.
- Liaise with Training Coordinator to ensure operational requirements of the program are met.
- Organize and deliver student orientations and student graduations.
- Track student attendance and keep all records current.
- Maintain case management records as required by funders and WBF (includes CRM & Student Files).
- Prepare orientation binders and other materials as needed for programs.
- Gather student and instructor feedback to ensure programs have continuous quality improvement.
- Evaluate workshops and programs with the intent of improving content and delivery.
- Ensure that all students and instructors are familiar with and adhere to WBF guidelines and policies for safety and behavior.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders for student selection and support.
- Maintain relationships with external partners.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Confident public speaker to diverse groups up to fifty people.
- Ability to build relationships that will help manage group and classroom dynamics.
- Having a client centered approach.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to be adaptable.
- Active listener, empathetic and approachable with the ability to engage in difficult and deeply personal topics of discussion in one-on-one conversations with students.
- Comfort and effectiveness in dealing with interpersonal conflict and group dynamic challenges.
- Ability to work both in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to deal well with stress, time pressures and competing priorities.
- Effective personal time management.
- Knowledge Microsoft office products is .
- Ability to write effective emails, case notes and program documentation.
Programs are delivered across provinces, so the ability to travel is a requirement.
Education and Experience
- Post-Secondary degree/diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience in fields such as social work, mediation, life skills coach, career coach, educational counsellor, human resources, mental health work.
- Direct experience facilitating adult learners.
- Direct experience delivering small group training in person and virtually.
- Direct experience collaborating with members of different cultural communities.
- Experience working in a Trades environment is an asset.
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to different audiences. Excellent teamwork skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while paying close attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Valid Standard First Aid Certificate.
