Reporting to the Principal & Vice President, Academic, New Brunswick, the Dean, Faculty of Education will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction for the Faculty of Education. The Dean will lead and promote Yorkville University’s academic vision by championing excellence and innovation in education.
The Dean is responsible for academic planning and governance, championing student success, curriculum development, quality assurance, faculty hiring and review, and the allocation of teaching duties. They will foster a cohesive and collaborative team environment, support faculty and staff in their professional growth, and contribute to the management of the New Brunswick campus budget.
The Faculty of Education offers graduate programming at the master’s and certificate levels, delivered online to both domestic and international students.
The Dean will oversee the academic management of faculty of education programs and will work with university leadership to ensure an excellent student experience and quality assurance of faculty programs.
The successful candidate must be comfortable leading and managing 100% asynchronous programs and should have prior experience as an Associate or Assistant Dean or Department Head.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate from a recognized/accredited institution in a related field.
- A record of peer-reviewed scholarly activity.
- At least 7 years’ experience teaching at the postsecondary level.
- At least 3 years’ administrative experience in a post-secondary education environment.
- Experience in the public K-12 education system and/or professional or corporate education and training.
- Experience supervising graduate students at MEd and doctoral levels.
- Experience with online delivery of courses and programs.
- Exceptional diplomatic skills and strong organizational and consensus-building skills.
- Strong capacity for external relations, including alumni and professional communities.
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with teams across all functions.
- A record of success in recruiting and retaining talented and diverse faculty.
- High personal integrity.
