The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) supports faculty and course instructors in their professional development as teachers, and provides consultations, resources and technology support to enhance learning in their courses and programs. CTL also enhances academic skill development through various support programs.

Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Educational Innovation and Academic Initiatives, the Educational Developer, Teaching Grants and Awards promotes a scholarly and evidence-based approach to teaching. You will provide expertise to support academic departments in identifying eligible faculty for teaching awards, deliver sessions and webinars on preparing grant proposals and award nomination packages, and liaise with various offices at UTSC.



This role involves consulting with faculty and staff on the design and implementation of pedagogical research, supporting UTSC initiatives, facilitating workshops, and guiding faculty through the teaching grant application process.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing and implementing components of instructional programs
- Developing instructional design plans for teaching contexts involving educational technologies
- Planning and overseeing the implementation of an evaluation framework for assigned projects
- Conducting detailed analysis and evaluation to inform program planning activities
- Developing resources on educational matters for instructors
- Conducting detailed data analysis to inform management decision making
- Collating and organizing materials for research proposal submissions
- Conducting analysis on research trends to strengthen proposals





Essential Qualifications:

- Master's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of recent and related work experience in higher education, including experience with university-level instruction, program planning, facilitation, and faculty development.
- Experience with program evaluation and assessment methodologies
- Experience supporting and mentoring faculty in teaching dossier preparation
- Strong understanding of educational theory, pedagogy, and adult learning principles
- Ability to use academic and collaborative technology tools for academic development
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills
- Demonstrated knowledge or engagement in scholarship related to educational development
- Evidence of engagement in conversations about curriculum,



teaching, and learning
- Strong consultative decision-making skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and proven project management abilities
- Strong computer skills, including functionality in Microsoft Office applications
- Passion for supporting instructors of diverse backgrounds
- Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and a respectful working environment

Assets (Nonessential):

- Experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud
- Experience with Articulate Storyline, Camtasia Studio, H5P, and Kaltura, or similar modules
