Reporting to the Vice President, People & Culture (P&C;), this role works closely across all business functions and our family of companies to ensure a consistent and impactful approach to communications. How You’ll Add Value

Storytelling

- Develop and share internal and external stories that highlight employees, projects, community involvement, and industry achievements
- Elevate Volker’s brand presence through strategic content for websites, social media, and other platforms
- Partner with external photographers and travel to site to capture photos of our project and people

Internal Communications

- Lead initiatives to support employee engagement through newsletters, events, and campaigns
- Support the development and launch of an enhanced employee intranet including stakeholder consultation, content creation, and administration
- Implement plans and create documents for project updates, program rollouts, and organizational changes
- Work alongside our Safety, People & Culture, and CSR teams in the creation of campaigns and tactics

Brand Compliance & Visual Content

- Ensure consistent application of branding across all materials, including swag, signage, and logos




- Collaborate on graphic design and video editing projects to develop visually engaging content

Community & Industry Engagement

- Promote the company’s community involvement through project announcements and profiles
- Strengthen relationships with industry partners

Leadership Collaboration

- Partner with business leaders to identify communication needs and align efforts with broader organizational goals
- Assist in the development of reports and presentations for the Executive Leadership Team
- Liase with our parent company, Volker Wessels, as required

What You Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, with a focus on internal and external storytelling
- Industry experience in construction or related sectors is an asset
- Exceptional storytelling, writing,



and editing skills tailored to diverse audiences
- Proficiency in digital tools for content management, social media, graphic design, and video editing
- Strong strategic planning abilities and a results-oriented approach to communications
- Sound judgement and business acumen, with the ability to align communications strategies with organizational goals and understand the broader industry and market context
- Creative, collaborative, and adept at managing multiple priorities
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem solving
