Occupational Therapist - Assistive Technology Services

Reports to: Manager, Allied Health
Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Wage range: $42.21 per hour - $52.76 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Permanent Part Time
Closing Date: January 30, 2025

Duties:

- Provide quality occupational therapy services to patients at Toronto Rehab - Lyndhurst within the framework of patient centered care.
- Communicate effectively with members of the inter-professional team.
- Provide education to patients, their families, occupational therapy students and interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide functional assessment, training,



and intervention for writing aid clients (inpatients of Lyndhurst centre and outpatients).
- Familiarity and comfort working with technology including adapted computer access software/hardware in Windows, Apple and Android platforms.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, meetings, committees and quality initiatives in the Department and relevant Programs/Services.
- Assist with coverage of other service areas where required. The candidate will perform all other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

- Completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy (B.Sc. (OT)) or equivalent.
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
- Member of Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and/or Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT) is preferred.
- MOCA certification is preferred.




- ADP authorizer for augmentative communication and writing aids preferred.
- 2-5 years experience in a hospital setting.
- Experience with psychosocial and physical health and related assessment and intervention skills addressing occupational performance.
- Experience with neurological dysfunction, as well as seating and positioning is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates strong and effective written, oral, and nonverbal communication skills.
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job.
