Position: Corporate Security Guard
Site: 200 Front Street W

Status: Full-Time - Days
Hours: Monday to Friday 0700-1500
Pay Rate: $20.60/Hr
OT Method Category: ESA Overtime after 44 hours

Job Description:
Working on assigned shifts, you will provide proactive and reactive security patrols and respond to incidents. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. In this role,
it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time. This site is a Government of Ontario Building.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Providing exceptional service to enhance the customer experience
2. Ensuring compliance with the standards, rules, and regulations at the Property
3. Be proactive in helping everyone have an outstanding customer experience at the Property
4. Perform highly visible patrols of assigned patrol areas/zones (by foot) and positively engage with tenants, guests, visitors, and employees on an ongoing basis
5. Maintain strong knowledge of activities and special events at the Property and assist visitors and guests during their visit to the Property
6. Normal physical activity characterized by extended periods of walking and standing, periodic sitting, kneeling, bending, and use of basic motor skills
7.
Regular keyboarding and record-keeping in written logs required
8. Maintain compliance with and enforce property standards, rules, and regulations in a reasonable manner
9. Able to use tact and diplomacy in dealings across a range of settings and situations
10. Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, CPR, or AED support until medical professionals arrive
11. Ability to maintain and enforce access control procedures
12. Solid understanding of emergency and standard operating procedures
13. Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, in a fair and safe manner, by enforcing the Trespass to Property Act
14. Assist with Fire & Life Safety inspections
15. Maintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters dealt with using a standard report-writing program
16. Investigate incidents and occurrences

Draft detailed incident and occurrence reports
18. Maintain the peace, safety, and security of all patrons, and clients on the property
19. Monitor CCTV surveillance systems
20. De-escalate emergency/crisis situations
21. Assist emergency and law enforcement personnel
22. Line management, customer service
23. Assist with daily operations as needed/required or directed
24. Other duties as outlined by management
Qualifications:
1. Must be willing and able to stand, walk, and patrol by foot and vehicle for extended periods (8-12 hours)
2. Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism
3. Must have at least 1 year of prior security experience
4. Experience in physical / mall security is considered an asset
5. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
6. Must have a strong command and fluency in the English language both written and verbal
7.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment both indoors and outdoors as required
8. Must be able to handle stress and pressure and make a sound decision under duress
9. Must be comfortable working in a busy highly populated area
10. Must have a clean driver abstract
11. Must demonstrate high attention to detail / observational awareness
12. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a team
