Early Learning Inclusion Coach

Full-Time – Permanent
37.5 hours per week
Salary $80, 897 – $98, 423
Excellent opportunity to join the Early Learning Program Support team with the Child Development Centre. Responsibilities include:
- Working in partnership with early childhood programs to coach educators and one-to-one support workers in inclusive practices, group dynamics and behavior;
- Collaborating to evaluate the learning environment and potential effects on development and group interactions;
- Assessing program strengths and areas where support is needed as requested;
- Collaborating to assess ECEs relevant skill strengths and development needs and together create development plans and evaluation methods of these plans;
- Providing regular visits to provide ongoing support and problem solve issues;
- Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients;
- Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community, including providing workshops and training; and
- Maintaining program statistics for the purpose of evaluation of outcome measures.
Travel within Yukon is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of early childhood education or development with at least 2 years’ experience working in an early learning program;
- At least 3 years’ experience coaching early childhood educators and demonstrated ability to effectively teach and coach colleagues on new methods and work techniques, taking learning styles into consideration;
- Experience In:
- Providing ongoing professional development, training and consultative services to teachers/ECEs – providing advice and training in response to identified difficulties implementing inclusion practices in a group setting,
identifying children’s individual learning needs;
- Assisting early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Assessing relevant skill strengths and development needs of CDC working with; and
- Using observation tools that consider practice in early learning programs, evaluating the scope and sequence of curriculums;
- Understanding group dynamic as well as theories and strategies for self-regulation and social emotional development and developmentally appropriate child-led, play-based programming;
- Excellent organization and oral and written communication skills; and
- Experience working in a cross-cultural setting.
