As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services for the City of Edmonton. You will work closely with various departments to identify their needs and ensure that they are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. This position requires strong analytical and negotiation skills, as well as a thorough understanding of procurement policies and procedures.

What will you do?
- Create and reviews purchase orders for completeness, accuracy and compliance with directives and procedures and forward for approval where above delegated authority Respond to supplier inquiries related to operational purchasing requirements
- Complete and submit purchase order expediting reports with accurate data
- Monitor purchase orders and their delivery dates, ensure notes and dates are updated and the end user is informed of any changes, through warehouse team or report as required
- Follow system quoting process to meet customer needs while balancing financial responsibility
- Update the SAP system with accurate information as appropriate
- Resolve System Invoice Exceptions
- Monitor and provide speedy resolutions in high volume group email for purchase enquiries
- May conduct lower risk negotiations on behalf of City Manage assigned non-competitive purchases - includes requesting quotes, reviewing quotes, seeking clarification,
agreement reviews by law and business areas; communicates with suppliers and drafts/prepares PO content
- Perform other related duties as required
- High School Diploma AND either a Supply Management Training (SMT) Diploma from the Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) or a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) certification from the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC) AND Four years diversified procurement or supply chain management experience which should include management, purchasing and contracting administration responsibilities
- OR A minimum completion of level 2 towards the SCMP designation from the SCMA or two-year post-secondary diploma (or higher) in public administration, public policy, supply chain, business, procurement, or related field AND a minimum of four (4)
years’ directly related work experience performing a procurement/contract management/supply chain role
- OR High School Diploma AND a minimum of six (6) years’ directly related work experience performing a procurement/contract management/supply chain role
Assets:
- A Degree preferably in Business with a focus in Supply Chain or Business Management
- Public procurement knowledge and experience
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP or Oracle)

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Timely and accurate data entry capabilities
- Understanding of suppliers processes from receipt of order, order entry/effective start date, supplier delivery, order closeout

Work Environment:
- Note: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52.
- The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.

Up to 1 permanent full-time position and up to 1 temporary full-time position for up to 11 months
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Salary Range: $33.943 - $42.466 (Hourly); $70,872.980 - $86,669.010 (Annually)
