Unregulated Care Providers (UCP)Stittsville, ON K2S 1V4, CanadaWe’re on the lookout for a passionate Unregulated Care Providers (UCP), Healthcare Aide, Home Health Aide (HHA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), to join our team in the senior living industry in Stittsville, ON CanadaShift schedule: 3pm-11 pm : 30 hrs. bi-weekly (every other weekend), plus one additional day either on a Friday or a Tuesday each week)RESPONSIBILITIES:Medication Administration (*UCPs only)The UCP is responsible for providing the highest degree of quality care and services by administering medication and treatments in a safe organized manner by law and in accordance with prevailing practices as set out by the pharmacy
Reviews, reads,
documents and communicates pertinent information about residents.Receives medication updates
Administers/assists/observes medications and treatments for each resident using the medication administration record (MAR)Medications are passed according to times as directed by the residence and/or physician's order
Documents and initials as medications are given; appropriate documentation is completed for refusal or missed doses.Maintains confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication among other residentsQUALIFICATIONS:Demonstrated understanding of/empathy for the needs of seniors
Passionate about providing excellent care and services to seniors
Certified in CPR and First Aid recommended
Good written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to update and keep current their knowledge of changing regulations, practices and procedures
Previous employment in a health care/hospitality setting an assetPSW or Supportive Care certification an asset
