Reports to: Recreational Coordinator/General Manager
Hours: Up to 35 to 40 hours a week - Candidates must be willing to work evenings and weekends required by The Newmarket
Soccer Club Programs and by third-party programs, including tournaments, festivals, and events
Potential Start Date: April 28, 2025
Duration: 4 months (late April to late August)

About Us
The Newmarket Soccer Club is a long-standing sports organization in the Town of Newmarket. We have a reputation for being a
progressive club with extensive programs for our registrants. We run our programs, and other community events at our indoor
facility as well as on outdoor fields in the Town of Newmarket.
We are looking for several Recreational Program Assistants to join
our staff for the spring/summer.
Responsibilities
• Assist in coordinating the outdoor recreational soccer programs including but not limited to:
o Recruit and assign coaches for the House League program
o Create teams, using established criteria
o Create schedules for games, practices, and club events
o Advise the Discipline Committee and Recreational Coordinator of all discipline
o Record and track standings where required
o Assist with coordination and execution of events
o Assist with player registration using Club’s registrations platform (PowerUp)
o Assist in the receipt/organisation/distribution of equipment and uniforms
o Assist Club Head Referee in ensuring Match Officials are assigned to all games
• Oversee the implementation and delivery of the Recreational program as set out by the Recreational Coordinator
• Oversee the implementation and delivery of the Recreational camp program as set out by the Technical Director/Club
Head Coach in coordination with the Town of Newmarket (month of July)
• Provide on field sessions for the Micro Players Sessions (U4 to U6) as well as for the recreational skills programs (U8 to
U16) as per the NSC technical program guidelines
• Assist with league management by overseeing program concerns and rescheduling session when necessary, using
PowerUp
• Collaborate with Clubs Technical Staff and the Recreational Coordinator to scout the recreational program for any
potential competitive/development players
• Assist with the development, distribution, and response collection of comprehensive member surveys
• Provide assistance to coaches, parents, and players of what fields to report to
• Provide assistance to teams if coaches are not present
• Fill in as a game leader/referee if referee does not show
• Assist in the taking pictures/videos for social media
• Answer any parent questions relating to the program (direct any queries to the office)
• Ensure all fields are safe, nets are up (repair if needed)
• Manage and organize the club equipment, balls, pinnies, cones, goals etc.
• Represent Club at Town Events/School Events; this would require weekend work
• Assist in other area of Club operations as time and skills permit
Experience and Qualifications
• Highly organized, with the ability to constantly re-prioritize
• Self-starter who takes responsibility for completing tasks on time
• Effective communication both written and oral
• Represent the club in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service
Education and Requirements
• Minimum: currently pursuing a College/University Diploma or graduate
• Standard First Aid & CPR “C” Certification
• Current Vulnerable Persons Background Check
• Ability to work evening and weekends and holidays
• Must have access to a vehicle
Compensation
Hourly wage of $17.20 to $22.00 (based on experience)
