My client is a well-established, patient-focused dental practice located in the heart of North York. We pride ourselves on offering personalized dental care in a welcoming and friendly environment. We are seeking a motivated, experienced Senior Administrative Assistant to join our team and help ensure our front office runs smoothly and efficiently.
The Role:
The Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) is responsible for providing comprehensive dental hygiene care and education to patients while ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and service. The RDH works closely with the dentist and the entire dental team to deliver a patient centered approach that supports both clinical and business goals.
Under the supervision of the Owner and the Company’s Director of Operations, the duties and
responsibilities of the Registered Dental Hygienist include, but are not limited to, the following:
Position Responsibilities:
▪ Proficient in taking digital X-rays, and utilizing intra-oral cameras and VELscope technology.
▪ Deliver high-quality patient service by providing thorough patient care, maintaining effective
communication, and offering personal attention in a gentle and caring manner.
▪ Assess and develop dental hygiene care plans, including prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, debridement, periodontal maintenance, and adjunct services.
▪ Perform dental hygiene procedures with precision using both hand and mechanical scalers.
▪ Conduct general oral health screenings, including relevant medical history reviews, and
communicate findings to the Dentist.
▪ Ensure accurate and concise patient record charting and maintain comprehensive database
information to aid the Dentist in formulating appropriate treatment plans.
▪ Administer topical anesthetic and monitor nitrous oxide under the general supervision of the
Dentist.
▪ Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices.
▪ Pursue ongoing professional growth through internal and external training opportunities,
ensuring the completion of continuing education requirements necessary for licensure.
▪ Set up and prepare dental equipment and instruments in alignment with established
regulations and office protocols.
▪ Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all procedures with proper documentation in the
patient management system.
▪ Maintain a clean work environment and dental equipment, adhering to OSHA and infection
control standards.
▪ Communicate effectively and build a strong working relationship with the Dentist, fostering
teamwork through cooperative and professional behavior.
▪ Support business objectives by managing schedules effectively and contributing to practice
revenue goals.
▪ Adhere to and uphold Forest Manor Dental's policies, professional standards, clinical service
excellence, and commitment to outstanding patient care.
▪ Perform other duties as assigned.
