Our Human Rights & Investigations department is seeking 2 Intake & Early Resolution Officer to join their team!

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Director Human Rights & Investigations, you are responsible for receiving, triaging, and facilitating the early resolution of complaints and inquiries brought to the Human Rights & Investigations Department (HRID). As Intake & Early Resolution Officer, you will support the HRID Early Resolution Model by conducting preliminary assessments and ensuring that issues are effectively categorized and processed.



The position plays a crucial role in recommending formal investigations as necessary. By collaborating closely with the Manager - Intake & Early Resolution, the Officer will address issues promptly, promote efficient complaint resolution, and maintain accurate documentation in the HRID case management systems, including investigation assignments.

- You will utilize conflict resolution and mediation techniques to help resolve complaints at the earliest possible stage.
- Engage with complainants, respondents, and other stakeholders to clarify issues, gather relevant information, and explore resolution options.
- You will also recommend resolution strategies and assists in implementing these solutions, ensuring both parties are satisfied with the outcome.
- Accurately document all complaints, inquiries,



and resolutions within the HRID case management system.
- Maintain regular contact with internal and external stakeholders, including complainants, Employee Relations personnel, union representatives, police services and legal counsel.
- Participates in the preparation of statistical reports, tracking complaint types, resolutions, and timelines for the Manager's review.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

- Your educational background including completion of a post-secondary education a related discipline,



along with demonstrated experience in complaint resolution; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent is integral and will contribute to the success in this role.
- Your application will demonstrate experience in complaint resolution, mediation, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of human rights legislation and corporate policies, including the Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and applicable TTC policies including but not limited to Respect and Dignity and Workplace Violence is required.
- Your ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple cases simultaneously is required.
