Position: Venture Capital AnalystOrganization: NGIF Capital Corporation Employment Type: Full Time on a 12 months contract (extendable)Location: Montreal or Calgary Reporting to: Principal NGIF Capital is hiring for its NGIF Cleantech Ventures (the Fund) a highly motivated and passionate Venture Capital Analyst to join our team in Montreal or Calgary on a one-year contract, with the possibility of an extension. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting our investment activities, from deal sourcing to portfolio management,

About NGIF Cleantech VenturesNGIF Cleantech Ventures (the Fund) is an industry-led $50 million venture capital fund created to invest in cleantech startups with a value proposition for Canada’s energy sector. The Fund’s investment thesis focuses on emissions reduction solutions for the natural gas value chain, including production, transmission, distribution, storage, and end-use applications. We primarily target industrial innovation, carbon capture, utilization and storage, energy efficiency, fugitive emission detection, mobility, circular economy, and digital transformation.Key Responsibilities· Develop and implement strategies to identify high-potential startups and emerging technologies.· Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends and investment opportunities.· Perform thorough financial and technical due diligence on potential investments.· Assist with preparing comprehensive investment memos for presentation to the investment committee.· Assist with various aspects of negotiating and closing transactions.· Support existing portfolio companies and senior team members in board and observer roles.· Assist with coordinating Limited Partner Advisory Committee (LPAC) meetings, preparing meeting materials, gathering portfolio updates, and managing communications.· Assist with planning and coordinating networking events organized by the firm. Focus on delivering value and optimizing engagement and impact.Who you are· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s, MBA or working towards a CFA designation is a plus.· 1-3 years experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, management consulting, working at an early-stage startup or a related field.· Demonstrated interest or experience in the energy sector, cleantech, and sustainability initiatives is highly desirable. · Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling and valuation.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM software and financial analysis tools is an asset.· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, and industry professionals.· Self-motivated, proactive,
and able to work independently and as part of a team.The successful candidate will be joining a team composed of technical, business, and energy professionals.
