About this opportunity
The
Aerospace & Defense Intern
will interface with Engineering, Supply Chain, Sourcing, GCBU and Production for the purpose of collecting information for the Engineering team.

This would entail ideas that would assist the team in cost reduction of current production aerospace product.

Organizing the information and under guidance executing plans to introduce a more cost effective solution.

Review of component parameters, support testing of product for verification, and creating documentation that would substantiate the choice of the new components.

This role also working closely with the Global Customer Business Unit on pricing cycle and related amendments.

In addition,



this role works closely with the Corporate Supply Chain and sites on quarterly claims and reconciliation process.

Engineering principles and basic knowledge of manufacturing processes

Point and Word
Activities
Gathering component information from Celestica production and external suppliers
Generating comparison data from similar components




Interfacing with supply chain and commodity managers during component selection
Review of design documentation to understand design intent.

Testing and analysis of components in order to verify parameters
Testing of end units for both original and newly selected components
Creation of data documentation that justify the new selected components
Managing Customer pricing and rollout process
Project related contract amendments
Accounts receivable reconciliation
Quarterly Excess and Obsolete claim process with customer
Quarterly Consignment confirmation and signoff process with customer
Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office with exposure to manufacturing environments.

Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data




Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc).

Education: Currently enrolled in University internship program, completing 3rd year in a 4-year program preferably in Supply Chain, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Aerospace Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
