Job Summary:

As part of Beanfield's national network planning, the GIS Application Analyst will report directly to the GIS & Automation Manager. This full-time, in-office position is based in Toronto. The GIS Application Analyst will provide expert guidance and technical support in managing Beanfield’s network database and geospatial representations, specifically for all Inside and Outside Plant elements. This role will be the primary point of contact for planning and design teams, contractors, and vendors, offering essential support with data extraction, reporting, daily production monitoring, application oversight, and strategic activities. This role will be responsible for maintaining GIS applications and schedules, ensuring that network-related workflows run smoothly and efficiently.

What you will be doing:

- Providing expertise in the user needs analysis,



estimation, design, development, and implementation of enterprise GIS solutions.
- Analyzes network DB issues and develops solutions focused on GIS strategic planning, information management and governance, organizational design, application rationalization and GIS business process optimization.
- Automation of existing processes and develop strategies for enhancing them using Python, Google Apps Script, and VBScript.
- Prototypes new procedures for enhancing planning and design processes, operations, and information process flow.
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes in production systems across the organization.
- Works cross functionally in the pursuit of constant automated mapping, field level SOW instructions and reporting solutions from conception to completion.




- Scope projects and aid Planning, Design and Implementation teams in developing network capacity solutions.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new processes, and other pre/post-implementation support.
- Actively engage user to advance the value proposition of network data and mapping solutions.
- Support planning and design activities related to technical aspects Network GIS/DB data manipulation.
- Support GIS Application users with daily issues and requests
- Fibre, IRU and Work Order Monitoring.

Requirements:

- Post-secondary education in computer science, engineering, geography or related field, and 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the telecommunication industry
- Strong proficiency of QGIS/ArcGIS, Python, FME, and SQL




- Solid understanding of Spatial and Network Analysis
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact and establish working relationships with internal and external customers, researchers, and application vendors.
- Hands on experience in datamining, designing and building modern data validation routines, data persistence and DB quality control queries.
- Managed operations of one or more production applications, delivered new features and troubleshoot failures.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Knowledge of wireline/fibre and IP network
- Experience building or customizing multi-tiered applications
- Experience decomposing development work and delegating to members of the team. Provide code review, peer feedback and champion best development practices.
- Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills (ability to write clearly and concisely)




- Good proficiency with toolsets such as Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, JIRA, Confluence
