The Role

We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team. Reporting to the Accounts Manager, the Accounting Clerk will work closely with the accounting team to ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported within OKT.

Responsibilities

- Manage monthly billing and related tasks, including sending monthly time listings to lawyers, adjusting file settings in the accounting system, ensuring timely transfers from trust to general accounts, and sending invoices to clients.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Process invoices, cheques, and electronic payments.
- Conduct accounts receivable calls and respond to client inquiries.
- Handle inquiries from management, clients, and vendors regarding file settings, work in progress, accounts receivable, trust balances, payables, and other related issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards in administrative and financial tasks.
- Review trust account balances and prepare transfer requests.
- Reconcile firm credit card statements.




- Participate in month-end close activities.
- Complete bank errands as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounts Manager

Requirements

- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an accounting role.
- Experience working in a law firm is an asset.
- A strong understanding of accounting procedures and legal terminology.
- Great interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills, including clear and effective expression of ideas in written and verbal forms
- Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, consistently delivering complete, solid results.
- Proficiency in computer skills, with experience in Office 365, Windows 10, and iManage preferred.
- Experience working with Soluno is an asset.
