Your opportunity:
The Registrar's Office at Woodsworth College aims always to be a reliable first point of contact for students, providing accurate information and sound advising on academic and related issues in an atmosphere of trust, confidentiality and comfort for a diverse student body. The staff of the office work cooperatively to solve student issues, improve student retention, encourage academic success,



promote personal development, and support student mental wellness.

Under the general direction of the Assistant Principal & Registrar, the Associate Registrar will assume senior administrative responsibilities for the Office of the Registrar and perform registrarial duties. The Associate Registrar is responsible for reviewing and assessing admissions applications; developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials; advising on matters related to the Academic Code of Conduct and preparing students for Academic Integrity meetings; and advising international students regarding an institutionally-approved Leave of Absence.

The Associate Registrar models an impressive ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures,



backgrounds and orientations in a way that is responsive to diverse language and linguistic needs and respectful of health beliefs and practices. The Associate Registrar also performs activities including conceptualizing, organizing and executing Registrar event activities; conducting post-event evaluation, analysis and recommendations for changes; interpreting current procedures and assisting in developing new guidelines and procedures in order to ensure the smooth operation of the day-to-day functions in the office; analyzing data and reporting and undertaking alternative approaches to solving problems as they arise.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing ongoing guidance to students with serious interpersonal problems and difficult or complex issues




- Advising students on academic and/or financial matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual's background
- Advising on the appropriateness, precedents and process for petitions and appeals, and suggesting alternative course of action as necessary
- Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
- Planningand implementing workflow for the unit
- Planning and implementing components of registrarial projects
- Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
- Advising on strategies to align websites with marketing/communication objectives

Essential Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years of recent and related student academic advising and senior administrative experience in a University setting
- Demonstrated experience advising,



while providing sound judgment and sensitivity in a dynamic and changing educational environment
- Demonstrated experience with office and financial management
- Demonstrated experience with conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
- Demonstrated experience with developing and implementing communication plans that support strategic objectives
- Proficiency with ROSI, or similar student information system, and it's associated systems(e.g. ROSI Express, Degree Explorer), Slate
- Knowledge of the Faculty of Arts & Science undergraduate guidelines and procedures, or other related procedure
- Sound knowledge of and experience applying best practices in advising and student services
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office program (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) with expert proficiency in Excel
- Process a service orientation and demonstrated the ability to work reliably, effectively,



and under pressure as a leader, supervisor, and member of a team
- Advanced interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to exercise tact and sound judgement to respectfully interact with individuals from various backgrounds
- Ability and expertise to assess students in crisis and prioritize appropriate student services
- Knowledge and demonstrated application of cultural safety, equity, diversity, and inclusion principles
