Senior Mainframe Software Engineer — Remote
An exciting open role with an industry-leading Canadian asset management and insurance company offers the chance to contribute to innovative projects on the Data Services Team. This position focuses on supporting critical business objectives in a collaborative and evolving environment.

Responsibilities:
• Develop software solutions using PLI for the Data Services Team, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
• Perform testing and deployment into test regions, contributing to the delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and implement solutions efficiently.
• Bring strong experience with IBM OS/390 mainframe environments, TSO/ISPF, DB2, IMS, JCL, and other mainframe utilities.
• Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical leadership in an agile team of 10.
• Leverage familiarity with IDMC, IMS/DB2, and other relevant technologies to ensure project success.
• Apply knowledge of agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban to foster a collaborative and adaptable work environment.
• Engage in continuous self-improvement and learning, contributing to innovation and team growth.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5 to 7 years of progressive IT experience with a focus on the full application development life cycle and systems integration.
• Strong proficiency in PLI programming for mainframe systems.
• In-depth experience with IBM OS/390 mainframe environments, including TSO/ISPF, DB2, IMS, JCL, and other mainframe utilities.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership, planning, organizational, and consulting skills.
• Familiarity with middleware technologies such as MQ Series.
• Understanding of tools like Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, or Powercentre.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to relevant technologies, demonstrating a commitment to continuous self-improvement.
• Strong communication skills,
with the ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the insurance and wealth investment financial services industries is an asset.
• Familiarity with IDMC and other modern development tools is a plus.
