The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) is recruiting a Summer Student to assist our dynamic Regulatory Compliance team. As a Student, Administrative Assistant, you will play an integral role in supporting our field centre operations. You will work closely with field inspection staff to ensure data integrity, maintain high standards of customer service, and contribute to the overall success of the team. Your responsibilities will include supporting records management, safety, finance, and engagement initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop professionally, and collaborate with a dedicated team of skilled administrative coordinators and field staff.

What your day-to-day will look like:
- Effectively triage and manage Field Centre correspondence in various forms (email, mail, phone, fax, and walk-ins), ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information. Ensure all communications are handled in accordance with Corporate Records Management standards.
- Conduct data integrity checks and enter AER records into the Field Inspection System (FIS), following AER procedures and working closely with inspection staff to ensure records are accurate and complete. Assist with data entry and training as needed.
- Perform general office duties, including handling invoices, coordinating with service providers, ordering supplies,
and following established procedures.
- Create meeting agendas and take minutes, and prepare, edit, and format letters, correspondence, and emails in accordance with AER guidelines and templates.
What we’re looking for in you:
- Currently enrolled in your post-secondary program, with a diploma or degree in a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing tasks.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a focus on customer service.

- Proof of enrollment in a registered institution including enrollment in the semester following the work term,
or enrollment in a registered co-op program will be a condition of hire.
