Job Summary
As a Summer Co-op in the Valuation and Model Development team, you will play a crucial role in model development for derivatives and analysis in trading strategies. You will also implement valuation tools for our portfolios and optimize reporting processes. Additionally, you will assist with ad-hoc requests, contribute to model validation, and actively engage in sourcing and analyzing datasets.
What you will do
- Work within the Valuation and Model Development team alongside experienced professionals and assist them in various day-to-day tasks.
- Participate in different model development cycles (development, maintenance, documentation) for derivatives in equity, interest rate, FX, etc.
- Carry out ad-hoc analyses for trading activities in the front office.
- Automate reporting and analysis processes in valuations.
- Conduct independent analysis to validate the accuracy of valuations from vendors.
- Leverage automation and data visualization to streamline data collection, validation, and reporting processes.
- Collaborate in creating and updating comprehensive documentation for new and existing workflows.
What you bring
- Enrolled in Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar programs.
- In-depth understanding of quantitative and qualitative financial markets, products, and derivatives, e.g., interest rate swap and barrier option.
- Proficient with Python, with experience in SQL and VBA. Ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets.
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau) is an asset.
- An interest in Finance and capital markets.
