Position Summary
As a member of the Parks & Facility Services team, the Equipment Operator provides specialized skilled heavy manual labour involving the use of hand and/or common labouring tools and through the operation of specialized heavy motorized equipment to support the general maintenance and improvement projects of the park and buildings. As well, this team supports the setup, running, and move-out of most events occurring on Stampede Park year round.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this role include skilled, heavy manual labour and equipment operation of a specialized nature which includes but is not limited to:
- Operating heavy equipment including skid steers, forklifts, grader, articulating loader, tandem dump truck, mobile elevated work platforms,
street sweepers and large John Deere tractors (Above 70 HP).
- Operator is required to exercise superior judgment when operating equipment / tools / machinery that possesses complex controls.
- Directing employees, as required, around work site and equipment, ensuring a safe, effective and efficient work flow.
- Completing daily logs as directed, which may include vehicle inspections, signing out vehicles, fuel, and vehicle maintenance forms. All forms are on digital applications.
- As workload requires: drive a water truck, operate a forklift, occasional lifting and carrying of materials, operate the vacuum truck, forklift, and skid steer.
- Providing assistance for general maintenance and construction projects when necessary.
- This position is a non-standard 40 hour work week, evening and weekend shifts are rotational.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:
- Have and maintain a valid Class 3 driver’s license with Air Brake Endorsement. (training may be provided for ideal candidate)
- 3-5 years forklift and/or relative equipment experience.
- Highly skilled operation of unique machines involving complex controls and working to close tolerances.
- Exceptional guest service skills.
- High attention to detail.
- WHMIS Certification.
- NSC driver status is preferred (will train if required)
