Job Summary
The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) is a defined benefit (DB) pension plan that is dedicated to providing a secure retirement income to more than 460,000 members in Ontario’s healthcare sector. More than 677 employers across the province offer HOOPP to their employees.
HOOPP’s Plan Operations, Investigations and Financial Recovery Support team is looking for a student intern. Reporting to the Director and Lead, the successful student will assist in the development and implementation of a variety of assigned projects, such as reviewing member files, researching invalid addresses, trying to locate contact information for unlocatable members and other assigned initiatives.
This is a great opportunity for students to gain practical experience and learn more about the operations at HOOPP. As an intern,
you will have the chance to work on meaningful tasks as it relates to our members, improve your skills, and collaborate with professionals in the field.
What you will do:
- Supporting knowledge and learning management systems
- Assisting with communication activities
- Interacting and collaborating with staff members
- Performing office administration duties
- Any other duties that may be deemed appropriate to assist managers or team members
What you bring:
- Enrolled in a college or university program with a focus on business administration, commerce, or communications
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
- Possess excellent problem-solving and research skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness are key,
as is the ability to interact effectively with senior staff and external counterparties
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
- Share HOOPP’s core values of professionalism, accountability, collaboration, compassion, and trustworthiness
