Position Purpose:
The volunteer Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to Client Services and the Provincial Office of the Alzheimer Society of Alberta & Northwest Territories (AS ABNT). This role specifically supports the First Link referral program by ensuring the timely writing and sending of letters to the program’s referring partners, regarding the status of their referral.
In support of the AS ABNT mission, this volunteer position is critical to supporting people living with dementia and their care partners by ensuring accurate timely communication to referring partners about the outcome of their referral of a person living with dementia and/or care partner as a client of AS ABNT. This position supports day-to-day organizational and administrative activities that ensure we are providing person centered support to every person who contacts AS ABNT.
Tasks / Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the administrative assistant include, but are not limited to:
-Using a templated referral letter and adjusting with the appropriate information regarding client information, referring partner information, and outcome of the referral.
-Sending completed referral letter to referring partner by email or fax
-Follow guidelines, policies, and procedures for volunteering with AS ABNT
Location / Setting: Edmonton office during office hours (between 8:30am-4:30pm). Primarily sitting at a desk using computer throughout volunteer hours.
