IAMGOLD is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Technology Planning & Governance to join our Global Technology Leadership Team in Toronto. Reporting to the Vice President, Head of Technology, this role will be integral in establishing repeatable operational and governance processes for technology and overseeing the strategic planning and management of technology initiatives across the organization. The Senior Manager will ensure alignment between technology investments and business objectives while maintaining compliance with company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
They will also monitor and mitigate technology-related risks in collaboration with teams across Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Applications, and Sites.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in technology strategy, governance, and value assurance, along with a deep understanding of enterprise architecture, project management, budget, vendor, performance, and risk management, particularly within a decentralized business model. This role requires a hands-on leader to oversee the development and execution of the company’s technology roadmap, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify needs and opportunities for innovation. The Senior Manager will ensure that all technology projects and initiatives are properly managed through the lifecycle process, from initiation to completion, meeting scope, budget, and quality standards.
In addition, the Senior Manager will manage the governance of IT projects, establish and enforce IT governance frameworks and policies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR and SOX. The role also involves overseeing the global technology budget,
ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and identifying opportunities for cost optimization. The Senior Manager will establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of technology services and infrastructure, track performance, and report regularly to senior leadership on progress, risks, and compliance.
Qualifications
What You Need to Succeed
The successful candidate will have at least 6-8 years of experience in IT planning, governance, project management, or a related field, with 6+ years in managing complex IT projects and leading teams. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is required, and certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or CISM are a plus. Strong communication, influencing, leadership, and analytical skills,
along with a proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage relationships across decentralized environments, are essential for this role.
