Electrical Engineer in Training – Junior Level
POWER Engineers Canada is seeking a junior-level electrical engineer in training for our office in Edmonton, Alberta
Roles and Responsibilities
This individual will be responsible for interfacing with other engineers in preparing computer-based models and performing power system and engineering studies on utility transmission/distribution systems, protective relay settings and SCADA systems engineering.
The level of this engineer requires an individual who has experience participating in some of the proposal writing process and enjoys customer contact to help develop new opportunities for POWER.
This person must self-manage, with a strong conceptualization ability and strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills – including the capability to explain complex technical issues at various levels to decision-makers and project teams.
Required Education/Experience
Requires a BSEE
At least two internship/co-op work experiences with a utility or an engineering services firm.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including proposal writing, report writing, and technical presentation.
Experience with analysis software packages (e.g., PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN or other equivalent).
Willing to travel (10% or more at times)
Ability to work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment.
Desired Education/Experience
EIT registration (or equivalent)
Python scripting experience is a plus.
