Events Coordinator, Ooks Life Team (2025-26)
What is Ooks Life Team?
Every year, NAITSA hires a team of students to help plan and promote a variety of events and initiatives for their fellow NAIT students. The Ooks Life Team (“OLT” for short) is a team of students who work together to create memorable experiences and a strong campus culture.
Being part of OLT offers the opportunity to learn and grow your skills, all while being fully immersed in campus life - and getting paid for it!
There are different positions on Ooks Life Team ranging from Clubs Events and Clubs Finance, Marketing and Promotions, Engagement, Involvement, Volunteer, and Events.
Each position has different responsibilities but everyone works together as a team to contribute to the collective goals and success of Ooks Life Team.

Position Description
Our Events Coordinators are the masterminds behind many of the awesome events you see at The Nest Eatery and around campus. Events Coordinators brainstorm, plan, and implement events, as well as conduct post-event analyses.
Primary Responsibilities
Events Coordinators are integral to providing students with a well-rounded campus life experience. This role has two key functions:
Networking & Relationship Building
- Increase awareness of current campus events by promoting to the student body.
- Foster relationships with students who attend our events, help them engage with other students and encourage them to participate again.
- Work as a team to ensure our events programming will reach many different demographics of the NAIT student population.
- Encourage students to sign up and use the tools available and the ookslife.ca platform to stay connected and informed about upcoming events.
Event Planning, Coordination and Implementation
- Work as a team to brainstorm all possible event ideas that would be fun to offer to students on campus, and/or virtually, to enhance their campus experience.
- Communicate with all event stakeholders while planning, implementing, and evaluating events.
- Create event charters that capture all event details for your events that include logistics, budgets, timelines, contacts, promotion ideas, risk assessments, etc.
- Complete post-event analysis in order to help future event coordinators improve the event if it is repeated.
- Gather feedback to consistently improve our events and get ideas for future events from participants.
Hours of Work & Employment Term
This is a part-time, temporary position with an employment term end date of April 30, 2026. Hours of work vary each month. There are limited summer hours, with the majority of this job’s responsibilities occurring during the academic year. Most shifts and hours are scheduled on campus, with some exceptions for off-campus events and working remotely as required. The successful candidate must be a student enrolled in classes for the full term.
Qualifications
- Must be a NAIT student enrolled for the entire 2025-2026 academic year.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in time management, showcasing effective organizational and prioritization skills.
- Timeliness and dependability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace applications.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 25lbs.
- Must have a computer with camera and microphone for virtual meetings, training, and working remotely as needed

- Self-motivation comes naturally to you, and you can be relied on to get your work done independently with minimal supervision.
- You consider yourself a “problem solver” and aren’t afraid to take some initiative to find creative solutions.
- Confidence with public speaking and using a microphone.
