- Engage youth through the lens of Positive Youth Development
- Support at-risk, vulnerable, and diverse youth with complex contextual factors to be successful within a recreation setting
- Observe and identify emerging youth related issues and implement strategies to address these concerns
- Work with various organizations in the community and schools to develop and connect youth to recreation opportunities
- Supervise staff and volunteers
- Assist in planning and facilitation of staff training as required
- Maintain the facility and equipment safe, clean and hazard-free at all times
- Plan, implement, evaluate, measure and report on the success of youth outreach and engagement initiatives
- Provide information to the public regarding programs and facilities in a courteous and professional manner
- Ensure that the City’s policies and procedures are met during the performance of ongoing duties
- Perform other job related duties as required

- Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
- The ability to think creatively and be innovative in your approach
- The ability to work hands-on with youth through the lens of Positive Youth Development and Trauma Informed Practice
- The ability to build strong relationships internally and externally in the community
- The ability to remain calm and problem solve in the face of conflict
- The ability to work well independently and in a team setting
- Proven specialized skill in working with at-risk, vulnerable and diverse communities of youth
