Job Title: Systems Testing/QA Specialist
Location: 5700 Yonge St, Toronto
Type: 1 year Contract Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Systems Testing/QA Specialist to join our team and lead the functional and non-functional system testing of the COVaxON ecosystem-a comprehensive immunization solution supporting vaccine program requirements, application integrations, and more. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in QA and systems testing, particularly in public sector healthcare projects, and a strong grasp of testing methodologies, tools, and processes. Responsibilities: Perform functional and non-functional system testing for the COVaxON ecosystem, including vaccine program requirements, application enhancements,
defect resolutions, and integrations with primary care, pharmacies, and public health units. Provide ongoing testing support for incident management and routine updates. Create and maintain complete system testing documentation and artifacts, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, automated test scripts, defect logs, and results reports. Transform functional, business, and system knowledge into effective test case planning and execution. Prepare test data, analyze testing results, retest until expected outcomes are achieved, and obtain client sign-off for implementation. Collaborate with developers, architects, product owners, and other stakeholders to establish effective test plans based on feature documentation. Apply QA expertise to track and resolve testing issues, maintain client service integrity, and provide technical guidance to junior testers. Qualifications: Public Sector Experience: 3+ years of experience with federal, provincial, or broader public-sector healthcare providers. Knowledge of Public Sector Enterprise Architecture artifacts, processes, and practices.
Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., PMI) and public-sector IT project methodologies. Proven experience with large, complex IT health-related projects. QA and Systems Testing Expertise: 5+ years of experience in leading QA/testing efforts, including test planning, execution, and defect tracking. Proficient in testing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions, in-house web applications, APIs, HL7-FHIR web services, and reporting solutions. Skilled in using testing tools (e.g., Selenium, SOAP-UI, POSTMAN) and creating automated test scripts. Experience with security component testing (e.g., SAML, JWT) and accessibility testing (WCAG 2.0, AODA compliance). Strong knowledge of SDLC phases and structured development methodologies. Technical Skills: Expertise in SQL, Rational ClearQuest, and other query languages/tools.
Proficiency in web accessibility testing tools and methodologies. Familiarity with agile and DevOps processes, including CI/CD tools. Experience with defect logging tools like Jira, Confluence, and TestRail. General Skills: Proven technical leadership abilities with experience mentoring junior testers. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders. Excellent organization, multitasking, and time-management abilities. Customer-focused approach with tact and diplomacy. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with clinical systems testing or high-volume transactional systems. Knowledge of Ministry IT project approval processes and policies. Familiarity with business intelligence solutions and data retrieval packages.
