This role is a combination of health information technology, health data analysis, and health informatics within Clinical Information Systems (CIS) and other digital health technologies. By investigating and analyzing how terminology content is actively utilized,



you are a key contributor in the continued development of clinical terminology data and interoperability standards within AHS and the national digital healthcare field. As the subject matter expert, you will possess working knowledge of healthcare delivery, CIS, digital health, and knowledge of global health informatics standards. You will investigate where terminologies are being used, how they are being used, and find the opportunities for optimization. Terminology standards are associated with the electronic capture, management, sharing and use of data within health records, safely and effectively supporting semantic interoperability. As a subject matter expert,



this role is key to the implementation and operation of complex terminology products and services within health information systems. This role will focus on quality and data, from both the business and clinical perspectives, requiring comfort in understanding clinical practices and language, as well as analyzing and interpreting the subsequent digital data. As the lead of an innovate specialty, incumbents will be required to develop and implement new processes and workflows as part of the complete information/data lifecycle. This Senior Advisor will work with clinical, business, and technical stakeholders ensuring the clinical meaning and intent is appropriately translated into computer readable data (such as SNOMED CT and LOINC), then supporting stakeholders with functional reusability accurately and effectively. Effective terminology implementation and maintenance is necessary for high quality,



point-of-care clinical data that seamlessly provides real-time clinical support, workflow efficiencies, clinical analytics, portable patient-centric data, and contributes to the future of evidence-based care. As a champion of the adoption of terminology and interoperability standards, this role will provide support and education to users and stakeholders as we continue to mature, grow, and develop the terminologies program.

Post secondary degree in health-related discipline. Certified Terminology Standards Specialist (CTSS) designation. Minimum 5 years of progressive healthcare experience including leadership roles. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with digital health solutions, electronic health records (EHRs), or clinical information systems. Staff are required to keep up to date with relevant certifications and will be responsible for completing educational courses,



as needed for proficient work as the field continues to grow and develop.

Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, execution and evaluation of complex initiatives. Strong understanding of health information systems, clinical concepts and medical language. Proven experience developing and applying process models, principles, policies, procedures, and governance frameworks. Technical writing capabilities with the ability to document complex processes and workflows. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and explain complex information clearly. Critical thinker who is self-motivated, detail oriented, organized, and analytical. Ability to work independently with minimal direction and consider multiple perspectives, including technical, business, and clinical requirements.



Innovative and creative mindset, with a passion for investigating and developing the best solutions. Experience in terminology and interoperability standards such as SNOMED CT and HL7 FHIR considered an asset.

Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, or maintaining terminology solutions and services with a focus on improving data quality and interoperability. Proven experience in data management, manipulation, and analysis, applying insights to support decision-making and enhance system performance. Demonstrated skills in business analysis, including requirements gathering, risk assessments, process and workflow development, and project requirement documentation.
