POSITION SUMMARY:

This Intermediate Environmental Scientist / Project Manager role located in our Calgary or Edmonton Office provides leadership opportunities to assist with the Assessment and Remediation group's leadership and involvement with conservation and reclamation projects for oil and gas facilities landfills, industrial land and defence sites. Technical, organizational, and leadership skills are key considerations for this position. The project work is primarily centred in Alberta, and the position requires some travel to remote work sites.

The selected candidate will be instrumental in executing Ecoventure's project delivery system to achieve the following project delivery strategic objectives: health, safety, environmental responsibility, client expectations for quality, schedule and budget; financial performance for project-specific targets; project team and field program expectations; operational performance and business unit expectations; and quality.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support in the following area:

Technical





-- Coordinate and execute Assessment and Remediation projects, including:

- Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)

- Groundwater Monitoring

- Tier 2 and Site-Specific Risk Assessments

- Soil Monitoring and Management Programs

- Spill Response, Assessment, and Remediation

- Remedial Action Plans

- Liability Assessments

-- Prepare associated reports for senior review.

-- Provide technical support to junior staff and complete peer reviews of applicable reports.

-- Complete Phase 1 ESA site inspections and prepare associated reports as needed.

-- Participate in Ecoventure's on-the-job training and mentorship programs.

-- Represent Ecoventure in conferences and industry seminars and liaise with stakeholders as required.

-- On an as-needed basis, provide support on Conservation and Reclamation projects.

Project Management





-- Project/client management

-- Managing budgets, logistics, invoicing, and schedules

-- Cost estimating and tracking

-- Business development

-- Proposal preparation

-- Progress reporting

-- Uphold Ecoventure's Quality Management System

-- Uphold Ecoventure's strong commitment to the Health and Safety Program and represent Ecoventure in conferences and industry seminars and liaise with all stakeholders.

This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work with a diverse and experienced team. The role offers involvement in all aspects of projects from start to finish.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate should possess the following competencies and experience:

· Bachelor's degree specializing in soil science, natural resources management or environmental sciences appropriate to the work description.



A Master's degree is considered an asset; however, it is not a pre-requisite for the position.

· Currently holds a professional designation as a P.Eng., P. Chem, P. Ag, P.Biol. or R.T.Ag.

· 7 – 10 years of practical experience in the execution of reclamation in Canada's oil and gas industry. Alberta or Northern Canadian Territories experience is preferential but not a pre-requisite.

· Experience in environmental site assessment and reclamation, as well as familiarity with the relevant site assessment regulations and guidelines for Alberta and the Northern Canadian Territories

· Experience or training courses in Alberta Tier 2, Subsoil Salinity Tool, and/or Risk Assessment are considered assets for this position.

· Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, leadership skills,



conflict management skills, and assisting in coordinating, analyzing, and synthesizing information to develop innovative solutions to problems, working with people, and advising others.

· Strong understanding of computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and GIS Software.

· Excellent attention to detail along with outstanding oral and written communication skills

· Experience with business development

· An agricultural, forestry, and strong soils background, current safety, H2S, First Aid and CPR, WHMIS, Ground Disturbance Level II, ATV Training, and clean driving record are all required for this position.

Additional Qualifications:

· Experience with additional software such as AutoCAD, Trimble, Surfer, Leapfrog, and database systems such as Siteview, Arkit, EcoManager are considered assets.





· Experience and training in Project Management and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
