Calgary Co-op is seeking a Learning & Development specialist responsible for design, development and delivery of training and organizational development programs.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement people development programs and initiatives to support employee and leadership development, succession planning and talent management programs.
- Develop online courses, workshops, presentations, reference guides and other learning materials.
- Facilitate meetings, deliver online and in person learning programs related to organizational needs.
- Conduct learning need assessments, identify gaps and present recommendations.
- Research and apply a variety of learning technologies and methodologies to address development needs.
- Evaluate learning solutions, including in-house and third-party training programs.
- Provide consultative and advisory support to the business in learning and development programs. Support the implementation of the training calendar including liaising with facilitators, managing training registrations, answering inquiries, logistic and planning.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education specializing in Human Resources, Education or related field (diploma, certificate or degree) combined with 3 to 5 years of experience in human resources or learning and development. An equivalent combination of directly related post-secondary education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge in the areas of adult learning and instructional design theory and application.
- Experience working with eLearning software and Learning Management Systems.
- Experience providing advisory service to the business in learning and development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional consultation, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Strong change management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Education or related field.
- Post-secondary education in Adult Learning.
- Human Resources or training experience in unionized environment.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
