TO Live is currently seeking Theatre Attendant to join us for our diverse lineup of shows and other activities at our downtown venue Meridian Hall.
These are seasonal part-time positions for outgoing customer service-oriented team players that thrive in a fast paced, diverse theatre environment.
These positions work a varied schedule including weekdays, weekday evenings and weekends. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and be available to work any of the above. Weekday matinee shifts are mandatory. This is a unionized position; successful candidates will be required to join IATSE Local B-173.
ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct patrons to seats and theatre amenities. Escort patrons requiring assistance.
- Program distribution.
- Scanning tickets.
- Communicating patron concerns to house management in a timely fashion.
- All aspects of customer service.
- Acting as a sales and marketing ambassador to incoming audiences.
- Remain alert to identify any issue/problem in audience such as noise or other inappropriate behaviour such as disturbing other patrons or the show, or any emergency, such as sudden apparent illness.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- A commitment to superior customer service.
- An outgoing personality, strong communication skills and an enjoyment interacting with people.
- A calm attitude.
- An interest in promoting upcoming TO Live shows and events.
- The ideal candidate is able to be on their feet for at least 90 minutes and can lift up to 40 pounds.
- Prior theatre experience is considered an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Flexibility in hours includes occasional work on days, nights and weekends as required.
- Loud noise during some performances and events.
- Lack of natural light in workplace.
- Travel between TO Live venues as required.

TO Live is one of Canada’s largest multi-arts organizations, operating three iconic venues: Meridian Hall, the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts and Meridian Arts Centre. In addition, TO Live presents a full range of performing arts, theatrical and concert events at these venues in both downtown and uptown Toronto.
