Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

- Conduct extensive internal and external foot patrols
- Ensure access control procedures are strictly followed, and client property is secured
- Respond to alarms and utilize alarm panels
- Respond to emergencies
- Ensure that your assigned post is always covered
- Escort visitors as required
- Sign in visitors and issue passes
- Assist employees, clients, and visitors
- Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors, and clients
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
- Complete daily logs and reports as necessary
- Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor.

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

- Ontario Secondary School Diploma
- *MUST* Ontario Security Guard License
- *MUST* Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
- *MUST* have 5 years of residency in Canada for security clearance
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills




- Strong understanding of computers and security related principles
- Ability to stand/sit for long periods
- Must be able to handle confidential information with a high level of discretion
- Must be able to make quick, sound decisions in emergency response situations with minimal supervision
- Must be able to multi-task and perform in stressful situations.

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU:

- Hourly Rate of Pay: $22.25
- Working Hours: 1900 - 0700 hrs, Week 1 - Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.

- Location: 4905 Dufferin Street, North York, Ontario
