Housing and Infrastructure Coordinator

Classification: Full time, Permanent

Salary: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour

Location: Williams Lake, BC

The Tŝilhqot’in National Government (TNG) is the official First Nations government serving the Tŝilhqot'in Nation. TNG is located in Williams Lake, British Columbia and serves six communities, including ʔEsdilagh, Tŝideldel, Yuneŝit'in, Tl'etinqox, Xeni Gwet'in, and Tl'esqox.

The Tsilhqot’in National Government (TNG) represents the Tsilhqot’in Nation in advocating for its communities’ rights and interests while fostering a culturally grounded and sustainable future.



Our Housing and Infrastructure Department plays a key role in supporting the Nation’s housing and infrastructure priorities, ensuring community well-being and long-term capacity development.

The Housing and Infrastructure Coordinator will work closely with the Housing and Infrastructure Manager to support the department's strategic and operational objectives. This role is instrumental in advancing housing and infrastructure solutions, securing funding through applications, and maintaining a robust administrative framework. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Indigenous housing and infrastructure, excellent administrative and organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting Tsilhqot’in communities.

Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Support

- Maintain and organize department records, correspondence, and reports
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, workshops, and training sessions with community leaders, stakeholders, and government representatives
- Assist with policy and procedure development,



ensuring alignment with Tsilhqot’in Nation values and goals

Housing and Infrastructure Solutions

- Support the development of housing and infrastructure strategies that meet the unique needs of Tsilhqot’in communities
- Collaborate with community leaders to assess housing needs and prioritize projects
- Work on initiatives such as Building Condition Assessments (BCAs), maintenance plans, and capital project planning
- Contribute to climate resiliency and sustainability initiatives for housing and infrastructure

Funding and Project Support

- Research, prepare, and submit funding applications to organizations such as Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), and other funding agencies
- Assist in monitoring budgets and funding agreements to ensure compliance and cost recovery
- Support the management of contracts,



ensuring timely and efficient project execution

Capacity Development and Engagement

- Coordinate workshops and training sessions to build capacity within communities, particularly for housing managers and infrastructure leads
- Engage with Tsilhqot’in communities to ensure their voices are central to planning and development initiatives
- Provide ongoing support to community housing and infrastructure teams

Requirements

Education

Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Project Management, Housing, or Infrastructure). Equivalent experience will be considered

Experience

- Demonstrated experience in Indigenous housing and infrastructure solutions
- Proven success in writing funding applications and managing funding agreements
- Strong administrative and organizational background,



including experience with reporting and documentation

Skills

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database systems
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Assets

- Knowledge of Tsilhqot’in culture, values, and governance
- Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations
- Understanding of ISC, CMHC, and other funding agencies
- Familiarity with climate resiliency and sustainable housing solutions

Working Conditions

- Travel will be required
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and additional hardware
- Overtime as required
- Lifting or moving up to 20lbs may be required
