On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for an Azure Solution Architect Specialist to join our Client's team on a 6-Month Contract basis. This role is a Hybrid position requiring onsite presence in Surrey, BC approximately once a month.
Summary of the Role
The Azure Solution Architect Specialist will play a key role in supporting the migration of the client’s data center to Azure Cloud. This includes providing technical leadership, designing scalable cloud solutions, and ensuring compliance with business requirements. The ideal candidate will have expertise in technology strategy, networking, infrastructure, security, and development.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Technical Guidance and Support: Lead development, deployment, and maintenance efforts; support cloud teams; resolve infrastructure/application issues.
- Review Existing Systems: Assess on-premises architecture, disaster recovery setups, and create as-is documentation.
- Solution Design: Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective Azure-based cloud architectures aligned with business requirements.
- Translate Requirements: Convert functional requirements into actionable technical specifications.
- Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders to ensure seamless migration, effective communication, and compliance with best practices.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on Azure advancements and ensure the team follows industry-leading security and compliance standards.
Core Requirements
- Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- Experience with Azure services, including Container Apps, Functions, Service Bus, SQL Database, Storage, and Networking.
- Proven track record deploying applications in Azure.
- Expertise in hybrid cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions across cloud and on-premise setups.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience implementing Azure resources.
- Familiarity with Oracle and Linux stack migration.
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps, ARM templates, and Bicep scripting.
- Experience with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and enterprise architecture methodologies like TOGAF or SAFe.
Terms
This role is a 6-month contract with a hybrid work arrangement. The successful candidate will work primarily remotely but will need to be onsite in Surrey, BC, once per month as required. Preference will be given to candidates willing to use company hardware.
Candidates must successfully pass a criminal record check conducted by the client prior to the start date. Two professional references will also be required.
