Job Description
The Liver and Pancreas Unit is seeking an experienced Clinical Research Assistant III to join the Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) research team. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, energetic, and will be immediately involved with research activities related to peri-operative medicine, transfusion medicine, and surgery. Day-to-day activities will involve recruitment and randomization of participants for an operating room clinical trial, data collection and data entry, as well as other study-related tasks in and out of the operating room. The successful candidate will also help prepare manuscripts, grant applications, and research ethics board submissions and follow up with patients for study-related questionnaires. While the primary work location will initially be at the Civic campus, candidates must be flexible and willing to work at the General campus or both as needed.
Basic Requirements (Education/Experience):
1. Bachelor’s degree in a health science related field or equivalent
2. Experience with clinical research.
3. Effective communication skills (oral and written)
4. Strong computer and data entry skills, including experience with electronic data capture systems.
5.
Evidence of training certification in Tri-Council Policy Statement -2 (TCPS-2) and the International Conference on Harmonisation – Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (ICH-GCP)
6. Evidence of training in Food and Drug Regulations, Division 5, and/or Device Regulations, as applicable
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of French is considered an asset.
2. Previous experience with electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC), is considered an asset.
3. Professional certification (e.g., RN/RT/RPN) is preferred and is considered an asset.
Compensation Pay Range
Min: $28.993/hr – Max $38.658/hr
