TransCanada Turbines (TCT) is the sole authorized overhaul, repair and maintenance service provider for Siemens Energy and General Electric (GE) aeroderivative industrial gas turbines, serving an expanding international client base.

We are currently looking for a motivated Maintenance Technician to join our growing team at the Airdrie Depot location.
Reporting to the Team Leader Maintenance, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting corrective and preventative maintenance tasks according to the Depot, Test Cell, and Component Repair production equipment and building maintenance plans.
Duties:
- Perform regularly scheduled maintenance and repairs on equipment and building systems according to the Depot, Test Cell, and Component Repair maintenance plans.
- Able to troubleshoot and complete minor electrical and mechanical repairs, including reading diagrams.
- Developing and implementing corrective and preventative maintenance plans.
- Develop repair schemes for various facility equipment including HVAC, machinery, plumbing, paint booths etc.
- Plan & conduct maintenance tasks as directed by the Team Leader, Maintenance.
- Update and establish maintenance schedules for effectiveness and value.
- Liaise with production departments to schedule maintenance.
- Record and document completed maintenance tasks using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (FIIX).
- Train shop floor staff to conduct user maintenance on production equipment.
- Identify and control maintenance related hazards.
- Lock-out/Tag-out of equipment in accordance with regulatory and/or manufacturer’s requirements.
- Conduct Hazard Assessments prior to each task.
- Ensure company vehicles are cleaned,
serviced, and maintained in safe condition.
- Assist with engineering projects and the installation of new equipment.
- Commission and decommission equipment.
- Escort contractors and visitors to ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
- Liaise with Health and Safety Advisor on safety issues and recommendations.
- Maintain general cleanliness throughout the building.
- Assist in general yard maintenance and trash removal.
- Increase knowledge of the HSE Policy and Manual and maintain a positive attitude towards the health and safety of oneself and one's coworkers.
- Take ownership of HSE issues and demonstrate enthusiasm and support for HSE.
- Other duties as directed by the Team Leader, Maintenance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years related experience as a maintenance technician is required.
- Millwright Journeyman ticket is an asset but not required.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office).
Company Requirements:
- Must have a valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Successful completion of a post-offer medical and drug & alcohol test.
