Position Overview

Shift Canada is seeking a visionary CEO/Executive Director to lead our dynamic organization and drive transformative change across the country. Reporting to the Board of Directors and working closely with the Chair, this individual will lead fundraising initiatives, expand our influence through advocacy and partnerships, and oversee the development of programs that inspire and empower Canada’s youth.

This role is an extraordinary opportunity for a seasoned leader with a passion for social impact, a knack for fostering relationships, and a commitment to championing a culture of innovation and success.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy

· Develop and execute strategies aligned with Shift Canada’s mission, goals, and values.

· Inspire a high-performing team by fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency,



and accountability.

· Oversee day-to-day operations, including financial management, administration, and program delivery.

· Serve as a thought leader and innovator, ensuring the organization remains agile and impactful.

Fundraising and Resource Development

· Lead diverse fundraising initiatives to secure support from donors, corporate sponsors, and institutional

partners.

· Build and maintain strategic relationships to expand funding opportunities and ensure financial sustainability.

External Relations and Advocacy

· Act as the primary spokesperson for Shift Canada, representing the organization to media, policymakers, and

the public.

· Advocate for policies and initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and youth empowerment.

Program Development and Impact





· Oversee the creation and implementation of engaging programs and educational resources that celebrate

entrepreneurship and innovation.

· Build partnerships with institutions, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to amplify our mission.

· Deliver compelling presentations and thought leadership to elevate Shift Canada’s profile.

Ideal Candidate Profile

· Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.

· At least 5 years of leadership experience in nonprofit, business, or entrepreneurial settings, with a track record

of success in program development, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement.

· Demonstrated ability to cultivate donor relationships, secure funding, and steward partnerships effectively.

· Proven ability to translate organizational goals into actionable strategies with measurable outcomes.





· Strong advocacy and public speaking skills, capable of inspiring diverse audiences.

· Commitment to Shift Canada’s mission and passion for fostering a culture of innovation and ambition.

· Adept at managing competing priorities in fast-paced, high-volume environments.

· French bilingualism is preferred to support effective communication with diverse clients and stakeholders

· Willing to dedicate approximately 25% of time to travel across Canada for partnerships and community

engagement.
