Description of Organization Community Living Mississauga is a non-profit organization, which provides support to people who have an intellectual disability so that their quality of life in the community is meaningfully improved. Location Proximity Mississauga, ON Description of Position The Children’s Summer Support Program offers support to children 4-12 years of age who have an intellectual disability while they participate in a day camp program, facilitating their inclusion into the setting. Children attend programs throughout Mississauga operated by the City of Mississauga’s Recreation & Parks Division and other day camps in Mississauga.
$20.00 per hour, up to 42 hours per week, up to 9 weeks

Summer staff also have some record-keeping responsibilities, must attend weekly team meetings and promote the inclusion of children into day camp programs. Staff must be comfortable providing personal care support, participating in all activities with the children including swimming, and be physically fit to perform the essential duties of the job including performing lifts and transfers as necessary. Qualifications Developmental Services Worker Diploma or enrolled and actively pursuing this diploma
Have experience working or volunteering with people who have an intellectual disability Equivalency Social Services Worker Diploma, Child and Youth Worker Diploma, or a university degree in a related discipline
Have experience working or volunteering with people who have an intellectual disability
Asset
Fluent in French
Aptitude to learn quickly and independently
Good verbal and written communication skills
