Make an impact with our Accounting Advisory Services (AAS) team as a Senior Manager. This diverse team of professionals are dedicated to exceeding clients’ unique needs within a rapidly evolving business and financial reporting landscape. As a trusted advisor, you’ll collaborate on a range of technical projects, such as new accounting standard implementation, acquisition accounting, revenue recognition, complex transaction accounting and initial public offering (IPO) readiness.

Responsibilities

- Lead and oversee technical accounting advisory services, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements
- Lead the development and execution of go-public strategies, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met and regulatory compliance is achieved
- Lead client engagements with minimal partner involvement, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and maintaining strong client relationships
- Drive business development initiatives, actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to sell MNP’s services, and expanding the firm’s client base
- Perform technical accounting research, prepare documentation for clients, and identify accounting issues within contracts and agreement
- Drive professional development initiatives, including mentoring, coaching,



and conducting formal performance reviews for team members
- Provide oversight and guidance on the preparation of financial statements and corresponding notes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Apply knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE)
- Collaborate with MNP’s Corporate Finance, Tax, Valuation, Forensics, and Litigation Support teams to offer comprehensive, collaborative services
- Provide regular updates to partners on the progress of engagements, highlighting key issues and solutions
- Prepare professional correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining findings, facts and highlights resulting from the client engagement
- Act as a key liaison with senior client management,



building and maintaining strong relationships to support business development and client retention
- Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team, encouraging the development of new ideas and approaches
- Lead and manage engagement teams, providing strategic direction and support
- Attend internal MNP and external courses to further develop accounting knowledge
- Promote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellness
- Conduct formal, written annual performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and setting clear development goals
- Represent MNP at community and industry events, enhancing the firm’s visibility and reputation

Skills and Experience

- Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation




- Over 7 years of relevant work experience in public accounting
- Extensive knowledge of and experience working with US GAAP, IFRS and ASPE accounting standards
- Experience leading engagements with minimal supervision
- Experience leading, managing and mentoring team members
- Extensive experience leading client engagements and building strong client relationships, with a proven track record of successful interactions at senior management levels
- Extensive experience in leading business development efforts, including crafting compelling proposals and successfully securing new client engagements
- Experience dealing with Canadian and US securities regulators is an asset
- Experience in auditing public companies in Canada or in the US
- Solid understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles




- Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Some travel may be required
