The Web Development Intern role is a co-op position working on the Buildings Digital Solutions Team (national), supporting the Design Technology team.

This immersive opportunity involves supporting various web development tasks, both front-end and back-end, with a special focus on connecting project information and Building Information Models (BIM).

Key responsibilities include contributing to the design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of our innovative digital tools, while facilitating the seamless integration of project data into BIM.

This role presents an invaluable real-world experience for students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields,



and offers a unique chance to apply academic skills in a practical setting, at the crossroads of building engineering and advanced technology.

What you can expect to do here: Assist in developing and improving our web applications, focusing on front-end and back-end development.

Mock up front-end user interfaces for our web applications.

Manage databases, ensuring efficient data management and smooth operation.

Collaborate with our design technology team on various projects, including the application of technology in building engineering.

Contribute to the design, coding,



testing, debugging, and documentation of new and existing software.

Support the integration of our digital tools and systems.

Facilitate the seamless integration of project data with Building Information Models (BIM).

What you'll bring to WSP:
Web Development: Proficiency in Java

Script, React.JS, Node.JS, and Python.

Database Management: Competency in managing SQL databases.

Git Knowledge: Experience with Git for version control.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and ability to overcome implementation challenges.

Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail to ensure high-quality, error-free work.

Learning Agility: Eagerness to learn new technologies and programming languages.





Value Add:
BIM Knowledge: Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) concepts and tools.

Understanding of Dev

Ops: Familiarity with Dev

Ops principles and practices.

Prior knowledge and/or willingness to advance knowledge on web-based software development platforms such as Autodesk Platform Services (formerly Forge) considered an asset
