As the Senior Manager, Credit Oversight, you will be responsible for providing credit compliance, oversight, guidance and support.
You will be accountable for regional compliance reporting,
maintaining an overall view of the market's loan portfolio quality and providing oversight and assistance on higher risk accounts.
You will also assist Team Leaders in training and development of Relationship Managers with respect to credit underwriting and portfolio management.

How You'll Succeed
Compliance and Oversight: Manage the temporary excess authority for all Managers, Associates, and Credit Analysts in the market.
Manage and ensure the appropriate implementation of new credit activities and initiatives.
Implement and monitor adherence to compliance to policy as it relates to the credit function.
Centralize audit issues as they relate to credit and assist in corrective actions/follow-up to audit observations for the region.
Advise RVP of the status of credit related scorecard metrics for the market.
Review and provide guidance on credit submissions with a focus on new credits, exposures less than $10MM,
and complex credits, to ensure credit submissions meet prudent underwriting standards, quality credit submissions and alignment with business strategy.
Foster open communication with CCA obtaining on-going feedback on credit oversight for the region.
Oversight of Market's Loan Book and Portfolio Compliance: Participate in quarterly loan portfolio reviews for all teams to ensure the early detection of problem accounts, and provide guidance and support on high risk accounts, as necessary.
Coordinate with Regional Risk Management as required.
Closely monitor the credit expiries for the Region, ensuring the team is managing the Credit Expiry within guidelines.
Monitor the reportable expiries on the RIL and track the expiry count monthly.
Provide Monthly Reports to the RVP and Team Leaders on the summary RIL findings and risk trends.
Review daily escalations from CPS for the region and ensure appropriate actions taken.
Review all CPS Exception Notifications and notify the Team Leader where appropriate.
High Risk Oversight and Management: Ensure proper due diligence has been conducted to understand the credit and business risks attached to the high risk accounts.
Provide guidance on the development and implementation of appropriate strategies to restore credit risk to acceptable status for each account.
In the event that a credit relationship has been targeted for divestiture, monitor the process to ensure that it occurs in a timely and orderly manner.
Review Quarterly Watchlist Reports as applicable prior to submission.
Training and Development:
Work closely with the Team Leaders and Relationship Managers to ensure credit training requirements are identified in personal development plans and take a shared role in assisting in the Relationship Manager's developmental needs/objectives.
Provide support, as needed to credit training initiatives and procedures within the region, in particular orientation of new employees with credit responsibility.
Train RM's on RIL and portfolio compliance activities
Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience in
portfolio management, particularly at the mid-market level including strong credit risk management skills with an emphasis on high risk accounts.
Comprehensive knowledge of financial principles, particularly legal and accounting issues relating to loan restructuring is required.
It's an asset if you have strong knowledge of
CIBC credit policies, practices and products (RAROC, MFA, MIF, Risk Rating Model,
and RILs).
