Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Project Coordinator to join the Vancouver Acute Admin Team. Apply today to join our team! This position is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to gain experience working across the various campuses that encompass Vancouver Acute, such as Vancouver General Hospital, UBC Hospital and GF Strong. In this role, you will be participating in complex projects that will positively impact acute care services in our community whilst collaborating with multi-disciplinary healthcare teams in a healthcare setting. This role will require you to be able to work in a fast paced environment as part of a dynamic, high performing team committed to providing the best care possible.
As a Project Coordinator, Vancouver Acute Admin with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:
- Provide analytical expertise in the financial and technical review, evaluation and maintenance of the project documentation, project management tools and executive reports for their specific Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) projects, allowing for effective risk management.
- Perform analysis on and documentation of the project(s) initiated by the organization to provide validation to ensure organization-wide and departmental objectives are met.
- Support VCH by ensuring the various internal and external stakeholders involved maintain a supportive and mutually beneficial working relationship.
- Work in collaboration with both the project team, partners and the end-user department(s) on capital and operational projects.
- Gather information and evaluate interdependencies and their associated risk to the respective project(s) and to the organization through interaction with external consultants and the other health authorities.
- Support, organize and lead specific workstreams within a larger project towards execution and completion.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
in Business Administration or in a field related to the specific project(s).
- A minimum of three (3) years’ recent, related financial analysis and planning experience in a large, complex service organization or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience in three distinct areas must be exhibited: financial analysis, project planning/management and technical expertise relating to the specific project(s).
Knowledge & Abilities
- Comprehensive technical expertise, project/process management, financial analytical skills and business acumen.
- Effectively and accurately responds to the needs of stakeholders and is acutely aware of the impact of decisions and actions on the organization and various stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication as well as facilitation skills to work effectively in a team setting and with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to identify issues, and to develop and analyze solutions to resolve problems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current advanced word processing, graphics presentation, and spreadsheet computer applications to prepare reports and presentations.
- Results-oriented within a high-pressure working environment with numerous critical timelines.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.
