This Opportunity
The District Vice Principal of Abbotsford Virtual School plays a pivotal leadership role in advancing innovative online and blended learning opportunities within the Abbotsford School District and as a Provincial Online Learning School. This position supports the principal in the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of forward-thinking digital learning platforms and flexible delivery models that meet the diverse needs of students and families.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Lead and inspire the ongoing innovation and evolution of blended and distributed learning approaches in the Abbotsford School District.
- Oversee a diverse vice principal portfolio, including but not limited to health & safety, student attendance, student conduct, and Indigenous education.
- Foster meaningful connections with students and families from K-12, ensuring personalized support for their educational pathways.
- Deliver instructional leadership by performing teaching duties, including serving as the lead instructor for the district’s Cyber Security program.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Curriculum, Leadership, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience preferred.
- Proven ability to lead innovative program implementation within a culture of system change and continuous improvement.
- Expertise in learning management systems such as Brightspace and Moodle, with a focus on leveraging digital tools for enhanced learning outcomes.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and relationship-building.
- Strong skills in conflict resolution, consensus-building, and fostering a positive work culture.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex organizational and leadership responsibilities effectively.
- Experience leading in an online, distributed, or innovative learning environment
