Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

Location: Thornhill, Ontario

The Quality Assurance Specialist works independently to provide quality assurance oversight of any area assigned where the business is responsible for adhering to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). Demonstrates a high level of independent judgment and discretion. Provides process expertise with high-level quality oversight to ensure compliance with cGMP’s, regulatory, industry, and corporate requirements.





Key Responsibilities:

- Document quality complaints and coordinate complaint investigations with manufacturing facility
- Coordinate QA testing and release of batches of drug, medical device, cosmetic, and products for the Canadian market
- Administer GMP compliance issues with manufacturing sites, contract packagers, warehouse, and contract laboratories
- Review and approve disposition of all returned products
- Review change control documents, deviations, and out of specifications from various manufacturing facilities
- Review test reports and out of specifications from contract laboratories
- Administer temperature monitoring of product shipments and address necessary deviations as per GMP
- Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field, required




- 3 - 5 years of related experience in Quality Assurance within a regulated environment or transferrable industry experience
- Thorough knowledge of Health Canada (TPD) Guidelines and GMPs, as well as the Food & Drug Act/Regulations and Medical Device Regulations
- Knowledge of applicable GXP regulations
- Knowledge of auditing techniques
- Proficient in MS Office applications and WordPerfect
- Working knowledge of applicable computer software
- Good organization and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
